Tow Truck Drivers are Paid More than $150,000 in Back Wages

WASHINGTON D.C. — Last May, the United States Department of Labor required United Towing & Transport to pay more than $150,000 to its tow truck drivers when it violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.  Specifically, the DOL determined that United Towing failed to pay its tow truck operators and roadside assistance technicians the overtime wages they had earned.  In addition, DOL investigators found that Untied Towing made illegal deductions from employees’ wages.  Lastly, the DOL found that United Towing also violated the FLSA by misclassifying its tow truck operators as independent contractors when they were actually employees, even though they were called independent contractors.

If you, or someone you know, is or was being subjected to illegal policies like those followed by United Towing, contact unpaid overtime lawyer.  We are currently putting together a lawsuit against a tow truck company that has offices in several states that appears to have had the same policies as United Towing.
