The company I work for just informed me about the overtime pay. For the last year I have put in 60 hrs per week $8.50 per hr no overtime pay just some holiday pay .As of wed 12/16/2015 I was called in for a meeting with employer I was given a excellent 1 yr evaluation with no pay raise and was informed due to the new law I will now be paid $7.50 per hr and $11.25 per hr overtime which is a $1.00 less per hr to compensate for the new laws ..I get to keep my client and still work 60 hrs per week allowing me to keep my budget around the same .If my hours ever go down they will pay me $8.50 again. Is this legal for the employer to do to the employee, and am I entitled to any compensation for the last yr of working 60+ hrs with no overtime ..fyi yes my work is in the clients private home .It seems to me I either agree to the changes or they will cut my hours to 40 and they you receive no overtime.
